The purpose of this Privacy statement is to inform you how and why we collect and process personal information and the rights that are afforded to those whose data is being processed.

Personal information held: Clients and suppliers.

Personal data means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person (the data subject); an identifiable natural person is one who can be identified, directly, or indirectly, by reference to an identifier such as a name, i.d. number, or an online identifier.

What information is held.

Strategic Shipping Company Limited holds information that allows the Company and its employees to execute its duties in meeting the requirements for which it has been engaged. This information can include names of individuals, email addresses (corporate and private), telephone numbers fixed and mobile.

How this information is used.

Gathered information is used to facilitate the proper execution of the duties for which the CLIENT has engaged Strategic Shipping Company Limited. This could be in the form of quotations, Airwaybills, invoices, customs declarations, delivery notes and instructions to third party partners etc or any other requirement needed to service the CLIENT'S needs.

Sharing of information.

Data / information is shared in the ordinary course of fulfilling the client's requirements. Data is not passed to third parties other than for the legitimate, legal execution of our function as a freight forwarder / Customs broker.

Storage of Information.

Strategic Shipping Company Limited believes that the confidentiality of information and data is paramount. The secure holding of records has lead the Company to attain the certification 'CYBER ESSENTIAL PLUS' for its internet facing l. T. systems. This ensures that Firewalls, routers, end user devices and hosted systems are operated in a manner that are robust and secure, able to deter and disable maliciously attempted access to data files. All Strategic Shipping Company Limited Personnel are trained in safe and secure computer usage. Physical controls of the Companies premises are access controlled, monitored CCTV and Alarm systems with visitors being accompanied always. Company archives are locked and under CCTV surveillance. Should a data breach occur, we will notify the 'Data Subject' and the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) within 72 hours of the breach. Strategic Shipping Company Limited is registered with the ICO under registration reference Z492717X.

Retention periods

Information is kept for as long as is required for the Company to carry out its engaged contracted duties, and as may be required by legislation, any regulatory bodies and any other obligation which it's operations must adhere to. After this period information is securely destroyed.

Rights of access to information.

Data subjects (the individual) have the right of access to Personal Information which is held, upon request, we will provide such information within 28 days. If you believe the data to be incorrect you have the right for it to be corrected.

You may request for the removal of information, provided there is no legal or obligatory requirement for it to remain, and in so doing it does not impair the continuation of the service which you or your employer has contracted with Strategic Shipping Company Limited to perform.
